  1. Hi Tina,

I really enjoyed your talk on Sunday. I had wanted to talk with you after but people made it to you before me and to be honest your talk brought back some memories for me that had me a little emotional. I cry more too since my stroke! I decided to leave and write you this note on your blog.

My stroke happened approx. 1 year before yours. I tore an artery in my neck and the resulting blood clot moved to my brain. I have always considered myself very lucky in that the only ill affects were a loss of energy and balance. The balance I regained in a couple of months and the strength over the course of a year. Any other long term effects are very minor such as welling up over a corny song. lol

I remember lying in the hospital like yourself and hearing people talk in that hushed calm way and I found it alarming as well because, like you, I never had any doubt that I was going to be fine although I could tell that everyone around me, including the nurses, were very concerned. I look back now and consider myself very lucky.

Your talk has reminded me not to forget that.

Congratulations on your amazing recovery. Your stroke was far more serious than mine and I am blown away by the effort and work that you have done in order to come so far. You look fantastic. I told Kathy (Rutledge my sister)that I would never have known that you had a stroke if no one had told me.

Thanks again. have a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year (only tears of joy. lol)
